Each trip is led by an experienced dive guide who will tailor your dive plan to suit your certification level, experience, and interests, as well as the conditions on the day.

Our boat fun dives run regularly throughout the season, weather permitting. Group sizes are limited, so we recommend booking well in advance.

Check-In
Arrive at Dive Aran by 08:00, 11:30, or 14:30 based on your booked slot. You’ll be greeted by our team and given a gear box and changing space.
Dive Briefind
A briefing will take place approximately 20 minutes before we depart the dive center.
Boat Departure
A boat will depart from the front of the dive center at 09:00, 12:30, and 15:30.
Scuba Diving
Dive time 45 min.
Boat Return
The boat ride typically lasts 10 to 15 minutes each way, with a return time of approximately 2 hours after departure.
Check-Out
The times of 11:00, 14:30, and 17:00 depend on the specific dive trip you have booked.

No. Boat Fun Dives are for certified divers only.
We take a maximum of 5 divers + 1 Dive Aran guide (6 in total) to ensure comfort and safety.
Yes. All of our dives are fully guided by an experienced instructor or dive guide.
Yes. Full scuba equipment rental is available, including: Wetsuit (7mm), Boots (5mm), Gloves (3mm), Mask, fins, snorkel, Regulator set, BCD. Rental Price: €35 per person/day.
It’s possible! Basking sharks are often spotted around the Aran Islands, especially in spring and early autumn.
It ranges from around 10°C (50°F) in spring to 18°C (65°F) in late summer.
The list is long! Divers often encounter grey seals, lobsters, crayfish, wrasse, cuckoo wrasse, and dogfish/cat sharks. With luck, you might also see basking sharks, dolphins, or even whales or a sunfish.
Yes. Our guides will tailor the dive plan to suit your certification level and experience.
Visibility can range from 5 metres (17 feet) to over 20 metres, depending on conditions.
We use 12L steel tanks with single-valve DIN or Yoke fittings.
No, Nitrox is not available at Dive Aran.
No. We use 7mm wetsuits year-round, with an additional 5mm shorty available if needed.
Yes. Dives finish at around 3 pm, giving you enough time to change and catch the ferry. However, dives started at 14:30 are too late for ferry at 16:00
