Peak Performance Control, Better Air Use, More Relaxed Diving

Fine-tune your buoyancy with SSI’s Perfect Buoyancy Specialty, often called β€œpeak performance buoyancy.” This course helps you dial in weighting, trim, breath control, and body position so you can hover with ease, protect the underwater environment, and enjoy longer, more relaxed dives. Building on SSI’s official standards, we blend confined water practice with open-water Atlantic dives around the Aran Islands.

This specialty is ideal for divers who want better trim, control and efficiency, perfect for newly certified Open Water divers, those using too much air or struggling to hover, underwater photographers needing steady positioning, and drysuit divers looking for finer buoyancy control.

SSI recognises buoyancy as a core foundation skill. Completing this course and combining it with other specialties helps you progress toward Specialty Diver and Advanced Open Water, opening the door to more dive sites, more confidence and more adventure.
